Species Rhyme Animal, not a rapper, rather a poet
The line is so fine, that I often choose to tow it
The secret of my flow, as far as I know is
I write rhymes to enlighten, no desire for riches or showbiz!
Money and fame are cages, traps that beasts and vermin flee
A modern day Chinua Achebe, peep my philosophy!
I’m a griot, whose rhymes unlock minds, just like keyholes
Briefly paused the game, on the line, like I’m shooting some free throws!
History, religion, politics, love, life, and other musings
Giving props to heroes, and criticism to those who keep abusing
The less unfortunate, voiceless, poor, hungry, tired, and defenseless
Ignorant of history’s past transgressions, all the loss of life, land, and culture was so senseless!
I don’t need any acknowledgement, for all of the services rendered
Our history has long been written, please read it, to understand why and how our ancestors never surrendered!
