The Two Train

Saw a woman board my train

Beauty was her name

Hoped for an opportunity to exchange names

She’s walking my way

Looking for a seat

Does she think I look good?

Impressed with my physique?

She’s strutting down the aisle

I really dig her style

Hairstyle natural

Curls complement her smile

As she moves closer

I feel a little bolder

A bit intimidated because she looks a little older

Excuse me miss

Are you looking for a seat?

It’s not a big deal

I don’t mind please

Our train gets deployed

My empty seats void

I think she said thank you

But the commotion drowned out her voice

Akward silence as she gets settled

I want to spark up a conversation

But to scared to meddle

*** it

By the way what’s your name?

My names Sandy

I know it sounds off

But sometimes it comes in handy

Well

I guess it can be a conversation starter

I go into the story how mom thought she’d have daughter

Painted the nursery pink with no input from my father

I came out a boy

So a name change why bother

She starts to chuckle and I see her smile

We go back and forth discussing our days plans for awhile

And then I muster up the courage to pop the main question

She’s searching for a answer

My palms get to sweatin

I cut her off and tell her this my stop

It was a pleasure speaking to you

I hope to see you soon, if not

Enjoy your day, I start to walk away

I’m almost at the door and then I hear her voice say

You forgot something come back and get it

Hands me a piece of paper

with her information in it

Name, phone number, email and text

Says she’s free around 9 call her then and don’t forget

I say I won’t, crack a smile and proceed to exit

I see the other guys mad because they didn’t get it

Got off of work get home and get ready to call

Ahh man I think I lost her number yall

I hope "Last Piece" wasn't truly your last piece.... You're a superb writer. I would hate to never be able to read your new thoughts translated into poetry.
