I don't have many more steps to go to reach the goal I set so I stop to pause and reflect on the steps I've already taken to this point a step up is harder than climbing a mountain it's like being on a wilderness journey hoping to reach a water fountain too fill a bottle to prime a well don't know what it's like to sit inside a whale but can't be no different from this side of hell I was asked was I in the word I said no "I'm into words" everything has a name attached like a label on a can of non perishables they want us out they gone starve us out don't act surprised close your mouth stop falling under the spell of distraction get the wax out stay strong don't tapout been pent to the mat been on the ropes back against the wall lord know how I bounce back from all that combat to make a comeback never signing a contract smell the chronic get a contact refresh your breath with a tic tac wanna hear a big fact ain't leaving until I get my lick back turning steps to strides I'm a lion can't help it it's the the pride in me I come along way "mama be proud of me" I stayed awake I slaved away to pave a way a step closer than I was yesteryear today
