As I lay me down to sleep
I pray to the Lord my soul to keep
And if i should die before i wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take
I've heard of some dying in sheer torment
with the devil hot on their trail and will not relent
with them weeping and knashing of tooth and nail
cries and screams is all that's heard, as a warning to those who live to fail
As physical slavery ends, mental entrapment begins
Young and old alike are enslaved forever by their past sins
How can one break away and thus be free
Boldness starts from within, I'm sure all would agree
so we as men are but to accomplish one goal
To please God and love our fellow man, we ain't here just for show
with that we can further eradicate the grip of the beast
So that our legacy can be left behind for others to follow as we Rest In Peace
