Repost one of my older poems written in 1999
after the Columbine High School masacre
When the sky was blue I was
but a tot playing in the parking lot
all 4 seasons came at their given time
stealing a candy bar was a major crime
fun was the order of the day
25 cents went a long way
just watching the airplanes take off
into the sky
me wondering whats above those
clouds so high
When the sky was blue the air was fresh
knew nothing of the meshing of flesh
I never knew of an ozone
and
my castle was our home
going to school was cool
now killing fellow students is
the rule
somewhere on the way I was off
to war half way around the world
very far to kill a man I never knew
When the sky was blue everything
was okay
somewhere in between the sky turned
dark and gray lets pray it doesnt
stay that was
God blees those innocent souls whose life waas taken away
in Texas folks
need to do something get those cowards money filteingr people out of DC they dont care about the people who put them in office
