To Serve and To Protect

Police brutality, when will it stop?
Black people of today wish they could be a cop
To give back to the white shark on what they gave us                                                                                                    The uncivilized beatings and the unjusitified detainments meant to enslave us

To serve and to protect, who does it really pertain to?
Why doesn't anybody please sit me down and explain through
the constant racial bigotry that the police adopt
Regardless of race or gender, their attitude is to stay on top

First piece, "To Serve"; meaning their own interest
while they place even the good guys under arrest
And sneer at all common folk that they've grown to detest
shining their plastic badges placed on their flat chest

That little word "and" means times two
They wanna make sure their message gets through
to all of us s who recognizes that these times are very hard
Hell, they're ready to violate our rights without prejudice and disregard

The last piece, "To protect"; Yeah, really?
sure as hell ain't us, to me that phrase is so damn silly
The police ain't nothing more than a highly organized street gang
Wearing the same uniform and color, who will beat you down and leave you out to hang

In closing, we understand Mr. Police Man
that you're just doing your job, working closely with the Klan
To lock all us s up to correct what you tried to collect
Don't believe the hype, yeah we're talking to you; To serve and To protect

AquariusKhan says:

Once again- thank you. Somebody wise once said that law is another word for force. The Constitution's "Right to bear arms" was to protect citizens from a police state. That was part of the mission statement of the Black Panther Party. We as a people have to find some balance between "integration" and what is in our best interest. Unfortunately, this site is not the forum for that discussion. Maybe you and I should talk. Let me know. God bless!
