I wonder what I could have done
If I could only change
If I could only leave my history behind me
What is one day I decided to be white -- then what would I accomplish
I am trying so hard to look to the future
And there are so many times that all I see if the past
Just as I believe the future is in front of me
-- I notice that it is behind me
Im too busy worried about the past
About what has happened or making a decision on what I believe to be the truth
My eyes are etched and scratched by lifes lens
And the truth has been there in front of me all along
-- Only God will show me the way.
