Dear China:
Please use your influence and international bully pulpit
To force France and the United States of America to commit
To pay Haiti billions in reparations, for centuries of documented despair and theft
Haiti has tried reason and sympathy in vain, now all that is left
Is a desperate plea, to the divine state*
From a humble global citizen, who re-read ‘world’ history, to better relate
What France and America did to Haiti was way beyond greed and hate!
France collecting reparations was crazy, but America’s occupation of Haiti (in 1915) was insane!
And eerily similar to what Russia is currently doing in the Ukraine
Short of declaring war against Russia, the world’s support of Ukraine remains close-knit
But back in 1915, when America invaded Haiti, the rest of the world didn’t do $#!+
I could beg, borrow, and try to get France and America to do right by Haiti
I’m just a middle-aged old black man, by the time I succeed, I’d damn near be 80!
You are the only nation that can get America and France to do it
Just stop building and shipping all of their $#!+!
