I was Just Being a Man

Men, this is lame, so, so lame.
That is the poorest, lamest excuse that men have been getting by with for years.
You were not just "being a man," you were just being inconsiderate, selfish and lame.
The hurt, disrespect and disappointment you caused your woman has nothing to do with you being “a man.”
Don’t you know cheating turns to lies, anger, hurt, rejection, lack of trust, deception, disappointment, unforgiveness…

Why did you cheat?
Their excuse once they get caught…

I was just “being a man.”
All these girls were coming at me and flirting with me.
The temptation was there and I mean, I was like damn, this that easy.
I told her I was married and then I don’t know… I was just being a man.
I really wasn’t trying to get with that girl.
We was just talking and then one thing led to another.
She kept coming on to me and I guess, I was doing what men do.
I just did it one time.
Well… I mean, all men cheat.
I don’t love that girl, I don’t want be with her, I want you.

Then they come with this… Cause you wasn’t acting right - No excuse
Well… It was only one woman - Unacceptable

You chose to HONOR your wife when yall got married.
How do you show honor to your wife by cheating?

If you gotta split, don’t commit! (Meaning… If you gotta split yo time, money and love between two women - Don’t Commit)

You know what being a man is…
Being a man is being caring
Being a man is being considerate
Being a man is just saying no
Being a man is showing loyalty to your relationship and family
Being a man is being a protector
Being a man is being loving
Being a man is being honest
Being a man is standing strong against temptation
Being a man is being a provider
Being a man is being respectful
Being a man is an Honor
Put Honor and Respect on the one thing you carry - Your name

You are the Head and when the Head is out of order, the household is out of order.

So no, you not “Just being a man,” you just being lame, man.

Powerful thought-provoking awareness feedback. Received likewise in the pounding rhythmic flow of the ending stanzas. True wisdom and guidance, Colette. Thanks for the share. Peace and Love.
