TO DEATH BE NOT PROUD

CATEGORY

Death passed by today

Waving and calling—

Come on;

I waved back

And smiling—

Said—I see

And hear you

But right now,

I’m busy with life

Engaging in labors of love;

Oh, I will most definitely

Check you out later

But not right now:-

We did not come

Into this world

To forever dwell

In its tribulations;

In its reality

Death has always been

And forever will be

Inevitable:

Yet, we must never

Despair in an inevitable

Resurrected eternity with God

Why wallow with

Dying with something

When another day

Perpendicular to earth

You are actually living with it?

I’ve decided to stand up

And look old death in the face

And faithfully say to him:

Be not proud death.

And I can say this

Because I’m a disciple

Of God—a disciple of:

Courage

Hope

Respect

Integrity

Service

Thankfulness

And when God waves

And calls me

I have no hesitations

In faithfully saying:

Here I am Father…

Ready to come on up

To dwell in that House

Not made by hands:-

Today

Whatever

Is waning my life

I shall

With waxing faith

Live with it

Until God waves

And calls me in

And each remaining day

I shall give Him

The thanksgiving

And praise

For keeping me here

To be in His service

Of labors of love—

Serving Him

By being blessedly

In service

To my fellow beings

As a reflector of His divine love

And a shield of His divine peace:-
