I've seen somethings

That turned my nightmares into factual things

I no longer dream

I sleep walk my talk

And close my eyes to fictional things

I have nothing nice to say

So I keep my mouth closed

As I watch these wolves parade around in designer clothes

With iced out bezels

that temperature their hearts

To remain froze

Everybody's out for numbers

Weather its your BPM on your heart rate

Or your carbohydrate and sodium intakes

Or the rise of commas on your financial plate

Or just another statistic of a city's murder rate

These discounted mathematics you just cant skate

Its than enough to make more than just Marvin holler

With no quick fix

or long term goals set

to fix these problems

No wonder everybody selling out these days

Just to pay for it tomorrow

Everybody abandon the morals

To justify what they had to do to survive they're

borough's

Their jet's

Their Hood's

Its been bad

So bad

you can't remember the last time it was good

Everybody wants to be different

But want to pick at people

when their differences are misunderstood

Nobody loves life

We all just trying to make it day by day

To pretend it's alright

If we only asked

what was wrong

Or took the time to understand

How very hard it is to be strong

Maybe we could be

a little softer

A little more Compassionate

A little more courteous

A little more welling

To let a friend

a family member

or stranger to lean on

And maybe then

we wont all have to relate to a sad song

This is my time well spent

To drop a jewel

I shouldn't have to walk a mile in your shoes

to get to know you

Because when you were focused looking forward

walking towards a better future

I was that woman

that child

that man

Walking side by side you

Hand in hand

Oh what a perfect view
