The clouds of krill performed collectively
In hot pursuit of a helpless prey
with no protection
like wolves falling upon sheep
with relentless appetites
the horde comes
Chasing minute phytoplankton
as they sought to be bathed
in nutrients upwelling from the deep
While drinking-up vibrant suns rays
before descending back
down to the depths
to sleep
Back to the krill,
continuing to close-in
for the kill
doing the dance of
Individual pursuit
in a slow-motion ballet
of death dealing
whose swarm in profusion
Fill the sea in every direction
Vast quantities are present stacked
in multiple dimensions
Bring on the home team.
Fish, penguins and whales
come to feed
Massive jaws open wide
drawing in huge quantities of krill.
With filter-like natural projections
Instead of teeth.
Extracting a feast,
Consisting of so many individuals
A meaty meal
A voracious appetite
a slurry of tiny morsels
Ejecting the water
Gulping them down blissfully
Ah! Soo nutritious
Repositioning, once more
For another happy meal
to replentish the fat store
for the lean times
to come
