Having not asked to be born
Into this world in this place
And these times, here we be;
And though we are revealed
As some of its first, we’re not
Even considered to be a part
Of the Creator’s humanity:-
Now our children are here;
Denied to be the children they be—
Brought into this world by you and me.
We have much to do that they not be
Seen as unwanted stress in this life:-
We must expand and do as scripture;
That our children are life-saving aware of
Asking, seeking, and knocking on the doors
Of this life we’ve brought them in to be—
Walking in the hued footsteps of you and me.
