Juneteenth here again—

One hundred and sixty years;

Still bushwhacked and killed:-

 

From tree-like lamp poles,

We’re still literally…hung—

Broken chains dangling:-

 

Though Creole cultured…

We’re not equal citizens;

Just hyphenated—
