Nothing Really Matters To Me

It doesn't matter to me 

It doesn't matter to me from where you come from or experiences you've endured in your life 

It doesn't matter if you were raised with privileges, always had your way, in a home with no pain, and smiles on everyone's face

It doesn't matter if you came from below the struggle where pain builds tears that floods the eye and hardships apart of day to day life

It doesn't matter if you are highly educated with a Doctorate or Masters Degree

It doesn't matter if you are one who successfully made it by following his or hers dream

It doesn't matter your race, color, belief, creed or ethnicity 

Nothing really matters if Within Your Life The Lord Can Not Be Seen 

Some may question why the things of this life move or react me

The answer is all so true and ever so clear to see

1940's Black Man Vents

It's morning and everyone's outside waiting for the truck to pick us up to go to work in the cotton field

In the back of the truck filled with workers, I close my eyes to appreciate the wind that hits my face

I Pray to the Lord that my future children will have a better opportunity to do something with their lives, say f*ck this labor s*it, educate their minds, own some sh*t, travel this motherf*ckn world, learn as much as they can, and escape this b*tch

People that pour all of their energy into destroying your dreams

In expectations of derailing your ideas with negative words that may bring about fear

Throwing around the words such as, "you can't or can not"

In hopes that they'll settle into your ears

Everyone has someone that envies them in some form or way 

So be not concerned, live life no matter your status

And let the envyaters stand by, soak up your success, and Hate

Be Aware Of Your Surroundings

In these day & times it's wise to be cognesant of your entire surroundings

No matter where you may be, be aware at all times

No one knows when it be there time

Any second, minute, hour, Evil may present itself 

To potentially inflict harm onto you in many ways 

Be mindful of the tricks inwhich is it's trade

The conniving games inwhich it plays

So to everyone everywhere pay close attention in everyway

For no ones promised to open their eyes on the very next day

Imagine you are in the Trenches of life 

Walking through dark walls on each side 

In the distant ahead you can see a light

You become clastophobic with each step 

The walls feel as if there closing in 

But Faith keeps you moving unitil you reach the end
