one time I fought a windmill

and the thought of me fighting

a windmill tickled me so

much I lost the fight against

the windmill I couldn't stop

time holds its breath before I draw my own
 wrapped in quilts of generational filth

the shadow of secrets whispers to me 
awake by the suns first touch
 steam rises from the kettle

sipping tea in the ghetto in the kitchen 
 window I gather thoughts
while birds rehearse their daily verse 
 I'm here to hear the first song 

taking note of music ringing in my 
 ears my eyes wander 
through the cracks in space 
 between asleep and awake

in the hour of beginnings
 vaporizes the weight 
of what occurred on the pages
 yesterday the canvas of today 

awaits the brush dipped in paint  to 
colorize  the blanks between the 
leaning tree's speaking hope into 
being focussing in on the words

out of our hands
should we refuse

from the situation
to display a lack

shape the aspects

transmitting
trauma across
generations
passed down to
our descendants
manifesting a 
disease called 
mental illness
in the upbringing
of the offspring
we are the blame but

feel safe and secure
around those we have
strong emotional
connections to
and those who 
we have shared
experiences with 
trust gives us a 
sense of belonging 
we generally
care for those we
trust and those
we trust generally
care for us 
we should be 
comfortable around
those we trust
but are those we
trust trustworthy
do you test the trust
do you believe the
trust is mutual
do you know your
friends as well as
you think you do
do you know your folk
your family your
people as well as
you think you do
is it reciprocal
trust can keep you
safe trust can 
also land you in
danger life and 
death ...

snitching and telling is cool now

except for the ones getting told on

I have a sister who used to tell

everything she see most of time

she told on me I had plans to kill her

in her sleep but if she didn't die
 
she would tell on me so I let her live

if only she knew what I had plans to do

I don't  do bad stuff no more I don't

want to get told on because I'm too

old school to think snitching is cool

never cried a river unless 

it was on paper I wrote my 

soul out to you in a letter

how I felt five pages later 

I felt what's the use in sending
