Just came out from debrief
aligning my perspective

calming my mind
focusing on the objective

tuning in...
my heartbeat

racing ever so slightly
my vision, focusing upon my mission

the engines are fired up
and primed for action

my mission parameters,

for this launch into space

but, this is war...

living matter, life began in due course

in peculiar ways, defied probability 

swirling in anticipation, knowing

growing, a beginning of life

fit when our worlds connect

better yet, when its good it gets deep

perfectly placed

unfurled, expanding in time

A place fit precisely into the breadth 

and depth of humanity

Time has seen so many tides

turning, restlessness engrained

stormy seas of life

ripples in the pool

learned scholars came 

why? they came 

Some from wealth and honor

other times perhaps to end the troublesome attacks, 

by those with less treasures, food or labor

He / She who knows, knows

sourced from African descent

moved across near distant lands

made progress, building a different culture

upon European soil

formed the mold... some mercenaries 

showed background, more than intent

brought fruit... more flavorful

worthy of repeat

in war where there was no right or wrong 

just war as a duty to pursue

Inner worlds move
with purpose

times before this
building towards the present

people gathered as
a means for survival

during a moment of peace
perhaps after a terrifying storm

what may have started
as a display of vocal ability

tonal agility... perhaps
of sexual availability

as a whisper of emotions
a silent prayer

pent up tension, seeking release
a respite following

a major capture of significant game
while making preparations for a feast

now releasing in a common sense of joy
a feeling of relief

a sweet song of contentment
perhaps started by parents tasked

to provide for the survival
of the family/tribe

one who would know
a soul... finding happiness

in this moment of success
a happy youth smile beaming

musical even without sound

but hearing leather bounce 

on pavement with a melodic rhythm

energetic, face turned 

to something in the distance

yet well aware of the connecting space

the art of motion evident

the style and grace

the clothes, shoes, hat, accessories 

dashing in a cool sense of dignity

each frame playing almost in slow motion

with an emphasis on gait 

in a smooth sort of rhythm

grooving on down

Running through life experiences,

gather families and pray

unless the authorities got mean and ugly

and the people might have to show up

and raise hell, just so that they...

As we come and go

At this very moment

time can be said to be happening

for anything in motion

everything which touches 

everything within the Universe 

is moving... towards or away

from everything else

perhaps both, who can say

Relative motion

just like us... human beings

We are related by time

to everyone else

what great and terrible things

we have done to one another

We carry within our DNA

our energy signature, 

left the evidence

at the scene proving 

it was as it has always been, 

us... against, us

like Caine and Abel... 

we've done the crime

Reality strikes twice

Remarkable memories lost in time

somewhat good, stuck between 

so many more, others

terribly bad... 

some worse than death

death comes easy

when you have 

nothing left to lose

winning at best is a new beginning

with a somewhat happy ending

Not crying at the birth of 

yet another child 

born into a life of second class 

at best a lifetime of servitude of bondage

with so little hope of escape

the fear/reluctance 

of taking your own life

pales in comparison

i can almost feel it 

in the roots of my bones

A story of many truths,

horrifying violence

Who knew?

Jesus was "that" protester

turning tables at the temple

the authorities did,

what's within their purview

by the same rules 

for everything else they do

what they do... 

to restore their hold 

to all people within 

their borders

to promote their causes

and effect their rules

to promote the religious 

rights order...
