Once in a golden sunshine 

Sparkling in a twilight 

Glorious shown

Shone bright

In a pain now broken

Admist the everyday fight

Happiness

Faded in the plight

Gone now

Out of sight

Strength lost 

Heartbreak

and heartloss

Snowballed

Into the sadness

And daily frowns and cries that become the cost 

While yet stars glisten

Upon the smitten

Who wear deaf ears

No longer wishing

Paying heed to what’s missing 

In a world that’s dissing

When the powers that be speak 

All listen

As the darkened deception 

Alters

truth perception 

And introspection

The night falls heavy 

On the noisy streets of Helsinki 

Laughter and mild conversation 

In the streetlights

The sea breeze caressing 

 Through alleyways 

As we wait by the door 

In the presence of the harbor nearby 

A knock upon the door 

as a few more

Gather curiously 

Another knock

Knock Knock

The host opens the door

Inquires how many wish to enter 

Two say together they came

Then another and one more

Graciously 

We enter into the dim candlelight 

Eager to explore

When the evening rains never came

As the breeze drifted across town 

The mood and silent tranquility remained 

Unchanged and unchained

Chaos had given way

To a bright and better day 

In a world that seemed to have lost its way

As in delight

Memories of a time 

Heavy on the mind

The Weight of Sorrow

The weight of sorrow 

With the weight of sorrow

The path I walk alone

For those too weak to speak 

From saddened hearts and wounds deep

And from heartache 

The soul weeps

And all hatred is

But a trait, a blister

Merely skin deep

The Softening Hour

As winter comes undone

The ice melts

and rivers run

Frosted air baked

By the burning sun

And the forest comes abuzz 

Critters and creatures scatter abound

Above bird calls resound

In springtime common mates are found

The dark veil is lifted

And life and love together rebound
