The Poetry Police

Dear Readers,
Have any of you ever had a run in with the Poetry Police? Just asking.

Let me address this right now. And this is just a friendly reminder from my point of view.

Poetry is Limitless. And I do understand there are many different styles and forms of poetry. I believe there is no right or wrong way to write poetry. Maybe there is, but like I said, “This is My point of view.”

And as we know, poetry is an expression of the poet's thoughts and feelings. I write how I write, and as a poet, I allow the reader to be inspired by taking them inside this mind of mine.
My mind is not your mind, so my thinking will not be your thinking.
My creativity when it comes to writing at times is totally different.

Let me speak for myself.
When I write, there may be times where there may be a run on sentence, incorrect grammar, or when subject verb agreements won't agree and that's okay.
There may be a time when my topic may be about Birds and Bees and as you’re reading, I may talk about birds, bees and basketball all in the same paragraph, and the basketball don’t have nothing to do with the birds and the bees, but oh wee, oh well.
That's the way I wanted to say it, and that's the way I wanted to write it.

Sometimes what I write may be a meaningful message, sometimes it may be a poem. Sometimes it may be lengthy, sometimes it may not. Sometimes it rhymes, sometimes it doesn’t. What I don’t need is, I don't need no spell check or auto correct; I wrote what I wrote the way I wrote it.

Nobody asked for the Poetry Police to comment, critique, or criticize someone else's feelings or creative expression. You are not a professor, and you are not grading someone’s paper, so chill.
If they wrote something wrong, it’s okay. It may appear wrong to you, but not to the poet.

Please keep in mind, when someone post a poem, that was their original, creative way of thinking. That was what THEY wanted to post and in the way THEY wanted to post it. Now when reading it, would you have said something different? Probably so, but guess what? It’s not your poem! So who are you to try to correct their poem into your liking by policing them?

Some people are fearful of posting their creative expressions, poems and thoughts because of people like the Poetry Police.

Now mind you, some people may not mind the opinion of the Police, or being told of their grammatical errors, or structure of writing, but me, I’m not one of ‘em. I wish the Poetry Police would try to critique my work.
I’m ready. I got a few choice words for them. (Smile)

The last thing I want to say is, when it comes to me, please keep in mind, I am a very well-educated writer, but one thing I won’t do is, I will not alter, change, or limit my words or style of writing to anyone's liking.
I write how I write, I write how I feel and I say how I feel.
If there are any errors I may notice after I post something, I’ll correct them on my own. And if I don’t, I don’t.

If my style of poetry is not to your standards, feel free to keep scrolling.

Be Inspired and be Blessed,
Thank you and carry on.

When I first started writing on certain sites I got pulled over alot and f***ed with by the poetry police. The best advice I was given is to "IGNORE EVERYONE" I did and the results are evident.
