(Poetess - found two more... will post, before they revoke my Poetry Vibes license... :-)
damn
this was an easy poem to write
looking into your eyes
seeing sparkling
dancing
cool white foam waterfalls
crystal clear ocean waters
my toes
sinking deeper into the
soft sand of your shores
yeah
this poem was no trouble at all
watching
two white hot bolts of lightning
dangerously flashing within your Caribbean skies
parallel
dancing for a while
never once intersecting
causing continuous claps of thunder
Greek gods
making mythological love in the heavens above us
and the worlds rejoice in their union
I know your name ain’t
Jones
just happened to see the name
Jones
sitting all by its damned self
an island surrounded by cool coral waters
schools of tropical fish in military formation
palm trees
orchards full of all kinds of island fruits
ripe
and delicate to the touch
a late afternoon storm arrives
bringing dark clouds
the rain finds me in your arms
as you whisper soft words in my ear
in a language I do not understand
with institutional understanding
and then we make slow reggae love
while the rain pounds against our rooftops
hearts pounding
frantic pounding
strings of a reggae bass guitar
and the words to this poem
swelling up within me
climaxing on to this page
two rays of lightning
dancing perilously close
parallel
yet
never intersecting
causing that one continuous clap of thunder
Greek gods
making mythological love in the heavens above us
and the worlds rejoice in their union
damn
this was easy
always easy when the Jones come down
the Caribbean Jones
