 Captain of the Clergy
They sent a clergy into a combat zone and now that very reason is greatly unknown
He was known as a Captain by rank and title; but his work for the clergy is what became most vital
Are we not all soldiers in the army of the Lord; diligently working for our glorious and eternal reward
Therefore this garment we wear in this environment; does not always our true selves always represent
For they are only clothing of our service to man; but our spiritual garments fit into my god’s plan
This one clergy to which, I happen to speak; is always willing to help the poor and strengthen the weak
They issued him a rifle for his protection over here but I know that god has not given him the spirit of fear
The weapons of his warfare are not carnal I am told; but he is mighty through God pulling down strongholds
Every day at the ready he stays lock and loaded; with his discerning spirit the devils secret plan has now been decoded
In this man’s army he must surely understand; that sometimes being a Captain and a Clergy do not go hand in hand
They trained him how to salute and when to say yes sir; but only through the word of God does his spirit get a stir
In this man’s army he has learned all the drills; but it is not his role assisting the Chaplain that really pays the bills
In his role as Captain he has come here to end a war; but in his role as clergy the struggle means so much more
We wrestle not against flesh and blood which is easy to defeat; to conquer our real enemy we must take it to the street
He has gone into highways and compelled all of them to come; because of this great effort he was able to reach some
T-Walls, bunkers, hescos, Kevlar and protective vests; to protect us from our enemies sometimes is really quite the test
To really be secure we must put on God’s whole armor; then we can withstand this present evil making us even calmer
Standing strong in the Lord and the power of his might; every day we stand in his power helps us to get things right
Dressed as a warrior he is always standing tall; when the angels sounded the trumpet he proudly answered the call
Having his loins girt about with the God’s truth; through the will of the father he is able to reach our battle weary youth
Having put on the breastplate of God’s righteousness; he is spreading the gospel with the greatest success
With his feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; he is helping those who are in prison to be released
He has the shield of faith to quench the wicked’s fiery darts; so that when he speaks God’s word it can prick the heart
Because he has the helmet of salvation and sword of the spirit; when he speaks God’s word people want to hear it
This Captain of the Clergy you cannot rattle; because God has put it in his heart and he is really dressed for battle
