I woke up this morning and I felt free
Free from all the ignoranceFree from all the pain Free from all the hurt, the anger, and defeat Because today Today is a new day As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil I will not SURRENDERAnd if I fall down the higher power will lift me up and place my feet on the ground Because today Today I feel free And although I'm not where I want to be I praise him because I'm not where I used to be For I have been walked on and kicked ,and beat while I was down Stabbed in the back I almost drowned But whats a journey without hurdles, trials and tribulations And although at times I got lost along the way Today for me Today is a new day I will stand tall and proud with my head held high I will smile and throw my hands in the air I will scream VICTORYVictory is me I am a fighter A soldier at her best And although the battle is far from over The fire in me burns deep For I know there's a higher power walking with me Walking with me a long the way So that when my mind gets weary and my knees get weak He is always there to uplift me To remind me that you can't have VICTORY if you accept DEFEAT
