When you ask me who I am I tell you

I am Harriet Tubman traveling the Underground Railroad searching for freedom

I am Sojourner Truth watching my children being sold off into slavery Fighting for women equal rights and I look at you and I look at them and I say "Ain't I A Woman"

I'm Septima Poinsette Clark

the “Grandmother of the American Civil Rights Movement,” I'm an educator and a activist. Im part of the reason you can vote today

I'm Rosa Parks refusing to give up my seat on the bus fighting to be treated as an equal

I am Martin Luther King Jr

I am Malcom X

I am Thurgood Marshall

I am Fredrick Douglas

When you ask me who I am I tell you I am The epitome of Strength,

I am generations of slaves

Who shed blood sweat and tears so that I may be here today

I am a representation of how strong black women are

I am the mother, the father, the doctor, the teacher, the fighter, the provider

When you ask me who I am I tell you

I am a child of God, The Almighty ,The alpha and the Omega, The creator, The decision maker

I am walking with Jesus across the desert sand For he gave his life so that I could live today, me a mere mortal I wasn't worthy but he did it He forgives me over and over again for my sins even when I don't feel worthy. He never judges He never complains

GLORY!!!!!!!

When you ask me who I am I tell you I am Free to be who I choose to be

I am a mother of five

Yes FIVE

Triplets plus two

What would you do

I am strong when I am weak

I am kind

I am loving

I am sassy

I am true

I am real

I am confident even when I don't feel my best

I am original unlike the rest

I righteous and educated

I am the woman you anticipated

So when you ask me who I am I ask you how much time you have

I am so many things rolled into one

My roots run deep

My ancestors blood flows through me

My soul is searching

My mind if free

It would take you a lifetime to understand me

Now

WHO ARE YOU
