Sleepy eyes that want shut tight
what disturbance has stole the night
Is it something these eyes have seen
that robbed the desire to sleep or dream
why don't these weary eyes obey
rid itself of the tiresome day
close the lids for a blinding shield
or offer a teardrop cry to heal
and the mental strain will fade away
in the stillness of the night I will lay
and close my eyes to end the day
