I've sold my soul for peace of mind

It seems it's coming so slowly

Asking myself "Hey what's the rush?"

Still I've chased it so boldly

Now I'm asking "What's the hold up?"

Expecting it to come so quickly

Blindly jumping head first into

Situations that strictly

Suggest I practice patience

A virtue that's hard to grasp

Sometimes I find I can't wait no more

So I'm faced with a difficult task

Waiting gets no easier

As time continues to fly

Just like time I wanna spread my wings

Become free before I die

The pain and guilt I've accumulated

Along the path I chose

Hoping to find the road to happiness

So this journey can come to a close

I've searched in all the wrong places

Delayed me in achieving my goal

Phony folks and pipe dreams

Sex, drugs, and rock n' roll

It wasn't worth the trip at all

But still I've paid the cost

Sold my integrity and dignity

Only to become more lost

Made up my mind to find some peace

In all the trials I've been through

It made me a better individual

But still the journey continues
