her dark cheek
though these tears pouring down her cheek frames a river reaching her feet
she walks on water
though mountains peak
her soul sores over them
she's seen the top
she knows the hurt
embodies the pain
her passion alone sparks the flame
wounds cover her feet
aches fills her muscles
my star she shines
though she walks through the valley of darkness she fears no evil
the steadiness of her pace
the strength of her faith
she will never break
though she falls
Her head to the sky her father picks her back up
alone and view her heritage is her backup
recognized by few
she is the mother
the hopes of a father too
the foundation of pride
the spirit of you
a black woman
my future's past
my first
my last
my everything
the world's queen.
