like high tide
it covers our shores
we stand here drowning
words escaped
to higher ground
leaving two souls
trapped in icy waters
rocked by turbulence
they are slowly sinking
deeper and deeper
into a state of anxiety
and depression
they will die before found
six feet under
they are surely bound
their words could have saved them
common sense cast asunder
each retreats into their pain
like turtles do
healing cannot begin
until words of comfort are spoken
but now only arguments ensue
so words remain forsaken
being dying to heal
retreat inward into their pain
the pain that is killing them
and when the water recedes
at low tide
two bodies will be found
the cause of death
broken hearts
they died without a sound
