Slavery, sharecropping, payday loans and jail
Bondage, perpetual debt, cheap labor and personal hell
Drugs, gangs, and cops who always stop and frisk
Whites too privileged to even wonder why we pissed
Broken families, social calamities, and overburden grannies
Baby daddies make infrequent visits in vintage caddys

Looking future rich but past broke a walking contradiction
A charlatan president in this dystopian fiction
Up is down, smiles are frowns, and politicians as high as tuition
Pharmaceutical snake oil disbursed with amoral prescriptions
Opioids fill voids like Netflix subscriptions
Have nots bing watch while the rich take our crumbs
Mortgages, bills, phones, and cable slowly make us all numb
Fewer people know Jesus
Charities pocket profits then become less egregious
They’d rather save the planet and drive a Prius
