Fight For The Right

Daily I have to fight the right, my right
To live in a world full of drama, so my tinme is tight
Every second/minute has came and went
As I contemplate my next move before my life is spent

1) I have to fight for my right just to exist
Because everything/everyone is against me, so ignorance is bliss
Every breath I take becomes a hiss
As I came out swinging hard with vengence with an iron fist

2) I have to fight for my right to not complain
Making sure whatever i do and/or say doesn't go against the grain
Can't afford to fail because it leads to eternal pain
And leaves no room for a cure, but down the drain

3) Instead i choose to fight for the right to give my God some praise
As I strive for protection from the hell I consistently raise
My days are numbered though, with that I'll never forget
It's a lesson passed, in hopes that I won't regret

Probably on a midnight stroll, while on deathrole?
I guess it's safe to say, that we lost our soul

Soul power came and went, through a balled-up fist
From a breakthrough to a breakdown, our race has gone amissed

A mixed-up image has taken us off course by storm

From crappy entertainers, to sleezy athletes
who blindly walk into a scandal, which leaves them destitute on the streets
Next comes the half-hearted, and selfish politician
They say, "I wanna help!", contradiction Black abolition

The million man March, what did that prove?
That we're a funky nation under a groove?
Let me tell ya'll something, it didn't do squat!
That's why for every 45 seconds or less, a black man gets shot!

The Beast Within

Growl !!!!
The Beast Within is on the prowl
Seeking, stalking, ever observant of its prey
 The urban city is his hunting ground, his geographical foray

Free in the wild, Where he reigns as king
Terror and chaos is what he'll bring
Body relaxed, though ready to spring into action
Teeth bared, claws unsheathed for traction

But somewhere, somehow, the beast within went soft
Then he got captured, while lounging in his loft
Awed in shock, he stares blankly while being carried away
To a strange land caged in a cell made of steel, dirty, and clay

Dreams and nightmares of his past life affect his mood,
While being fed slop, he slowly becoming unglued
Scheming, planning a way to escape,
At any cost, so he scratches the ground using defunct claws to scrape

His captors approach him, thoughts of torture and to maim,
The Beast Within fents timidly to his corner, wait...

Never Give Up

To Never Give Up, is a phrase worth an earful
But can it be real in a world so tearful?
Chaos, broken dreams, misery, even death?
It can drive a man insane, till the last breath

On one hand, it CAN lead to insanity
performing the same task, with no plan to be
researched, evaluated, leaving the same ol bad result
extreme  embarrasment, is just an injurious insult

On the other hand, it might be alright
doing the same thing, from day to night, 
becoming second nature, opening up new doors
of opppurtunity and success, to even up all the scores

 Far as i'm concerned, I'm doing the unbelievable
To stay focused, until it becomes achievable
No matter what the world says, "that it can't be done."
The work is hard, so why not have some fun

The Jack of all trades, the master of my craft
I'm doing it well, so i'll have the last laugh
Gaining experie...

Is Reality a Blessing or a curse?

Everyday i wake up, i need to ask myself first
Is reality in general a blessing or a curse?
As i look out my window, and/or watch the news
i find myself hitting my knees to pray, before i catch the blues

I see the weather changing, leaving behind beautiful skies
While disease and racial prejudices run wild, that the world denies
Giving a false sense of security to any living entity, spritual and/or otherwise
Causing many to adapt, while some wear this apparition like a disguise

Deep within, i failed to realize
That within life itself, under a veil of observation, is a mixture of truth and lies
Is it a time and/or a season? or is it just a temporary custom?
Without an answer, i decided not to trust them

Before long though, i became intoxicated
Within the vortex of my reasoning,  while my soul's getting innoculated
With love, mixed with hate, incomprehensive, but welcomi...

A Home Of My Own

Days gone by, I've heard many a true, but strange cliche
How i wonder if people even pay attention to anything they say
I wonder if people even understand the meaning behind any phrase
or statement, leaving others in a somewhat confused daze

Let me introduce this phrase, "A home of my own."
and kick some science while I'm in the zone
painting a picture to bring clarity
so that it can be shared with charity

All my life, I lived with other people
enduring the b.s. so i crawled to a steeple
and cried aloud for a peace of mind
to someday leave all these troubles behind

Started sitting in jail because i got mad
Pent-up frustration was all i had
in and out of institutions almost became my lifestyle

God Almighty had indeed heard my cry

On My Own!

Stay the Course

How shall I begin, in this world filled with sin
going back and forth to ask God for forgiveness now and then
Already knowing that i'm going to do it again and again
But God knows my heart, judging me with a stern grin

Telling me: "My Son, what is wrong with you?"
"I fully understand all that you're going through."
"The path that I chose for you is truly the right direction"
"So why keep stumbling on the same stone, knowing you need correction?"

I looked up in bewilderment, crying:"what else should i do?"
So i ask for help, still not having a clue
on what lies before me, as these walls come closing in
with shadowy figures now snarling at me, like I'm Daniel trapped in the Lion's den

all of a sudden a light shines in front of me
Is it sign? Better than that am i free?
question after question arose, struggling amidst this confusion
Till God touched my head to quell this demo...

Mother Nature and Father Time

Mother Nature tends to sooth and relieve
the constant blemishes of man who believe
that failure's life threatening, and the world's at an end
Really, it's only but a lesson that only she can send

Mother Nature, how do you teach flowers to stay so bright
in dark places within man's heart where there's no light
Is it through our feelings which brings about change?
Or is it through our sins that makes our goodness seem strange?

Then here comes Father Time, patient as ever
fast as lightning, but slow as a turtle, whcih seems quite clever
That all of man's desires can be fulfilled
But as children we wail until the gift has been billed

When it's received though, man jumps in delight
not knowing that there's more within sight
So in turn Father Time teaches man a great, unforgetable virtue
That nothing in this world was ever meant to hurt you
