Late one night
Deep inside my dreams
Something caught me by surprise
Was it a foresight of
Times to come perhaps?
Or just a reminder
Of what could’ve been?
Reminiscing on earlier days
Way back when at a prime
And much younger time
In my life.
It felt right, it felt comfortable
And I was happy.
In this dream our bond
Gave strength an
Entirely new meaning
An unexpected feeling
I truly never gave thought to.
But the love we shared
Was so strong I felt as if
I slept in his embrace
The entire night but when
I awakened he wasn’t there.
How could this feeling be so strong?
