if I'm holding my tongue
if I'm holding my peace
how is possible
for my hands to be free
because free is all I
want to be if I turn
the other cheek
if I'm too afraid to speak
how you gone know
you hurting me if I resist
when you insist on
killing me whether
you think I'm wrong
or right if I want a life
I must fight for a right
to live I don't know
who wouldn't be hell
bent on defending
themselves having to
go on living like this I don't
need to shout to be heard
until you cease & desist
I will not hold this tongue
nor this peace when
you insist on killin me
