Seems like everywhere folks can turn
we keep hearing about corona virus,
it was just a few years ago remember
we got sick from music of Miley Cyrus.
So where in the world did the flu go to?
Did it just bounce or has it flown away?
There are so many gaps in between lies
I hardly know how I make it thru a day.
Six feet apart equals social distancing
makes for a rather odd family when home,
here honey you sleep over there, kids here
don't worry about Grandpa he likes to roam.
Birds continue to sing, as well as dogs bark
cars jettison up and down roads, trucks too,
buses, trains, airplanes, all doing their thing
the ants are fine, roaches also, how about you?
Flowers are still blooming, crooks are set free,
pharmacy's are pushing side-effected medicines,
high priced fruits and veggies are on Market St.
knees are placed on necks like wrestling pins.
The truth is being spun better than spider webs
infusing it with gifts of gab 'bout church & state,
seems it wouldn't be a state without God's property
mankind has taken freely using ole' devil's hate.
So, now we find each other and family masked up
turning folks into eye readers, and surely mimes,
greed is scrambling healing is on its merry way
lies may cease after dollars follow quarters & dimes!
Ignorance also should be tired of selling the same
diamonds and gold, paintings with picture frames,
trickle down economics like dirty water in gutters
saying honky, spic, darky, and more silly names.
Feed my sheep was what Jesus the Christ spoke
with whatever you may come upon in this world,
or it shall be many days when greed stop spinning
and is violently shook, who then will be calling Earl?
