munching on a piece of pie
cold drink by my side
waiting for the ink to dry
careful not to smear my scribe
so many of mine have died
promise myself not to cry
on the black hand side
we may be kin but not
from the same tribe
you a pea brain my skull
is wide took a lot of faith
to muster up the pride
catchup it's still time
whole time whole life
been a lie don't like
mamas side can't stand
papas side done a lot of
time on the inside
didn't see hide nor hair
of either side it wasn't
homicide used to hang
out with wize guys
kinda like I had mob ties
you know the kind that
paint houses and kill flies
dangerous but still
survived to eat pie
wait for the ink to dry
careful not to smear
my scribe watching life
flash before my eyes
like I died and got a
new lease on life
paying dues is how
I get by no free ride
no free fare until we
free life won't be fair
