if a bird could talk to me
what would it have to say
what would the conversation be
would it happening startle me
would I be ecited to know
not only parots speak
I would as "what's it like to have a beak"
more importantly "what's it like to fly"
I wonder what knid of questions
the bird would ask me
maybe "what's it like to sleep in a bed"
perhaps "why you don't have wings"
I think of the strangest things
my mind is hard to understand
that's what makes me stand out
from the crowd that's what makes
me different when I hear birds sing
I stop and listen as if their talking to me
