if I were a bird I spread wings and fly keeping in mind there's some one on the ground trying to shoot me out the sky that's what it's like when someone tries to pull me down they don't want to see me up there they act like they need me down here they think I don't know what their saying they think I don't know they be praying I fall when I feel bad they act like their sad they think I don't know how glad they are to see me so low I know who wants me to stay and who wants me to go ever time I return they act like they seen a ghost the difference between a hug and a hold is one won't let go been reduced to nothing at all from that point is where I took off life ain't been nothing but loss of trust for those I love and finding out they been holding a grudge against me for nothing I done wrong hells been burning for a long time heavens in the mind of those who hope and those who dream to rise above all the screams it's a mystery to me can't figure it out thought I knew what it was all about if you take aim I hope it hits the chest wearing a vest a breastplate to shield the heart from all the darts soaring alone into the dark far away from light of day
