"you made me love poetry" I wasn't reading books I wasn't writing stuff down I was at home giving up on life because I hated it more than those I hated more than those who hated me "you made me love poetry" I remember you told me to write down my feelings and I remember laughing in your face like what's that gone do for me when I'm dying inside like a flower wilting in its own liquid filth I hated you for telling me to write about that I hated those black and white notebooks you gave me even more than that I wanted to spill your blood on every page "you made me love poetry" I'll never forget the night the first time I heard a poet recite the first book of poetry I ever read first time I started to write "you made me love poetry" and poetry made me love me I appreciate all those sessions I sat and said nothing while you waited for me to say something instead I wrote "you made me love poetry" "you made me love poetry"
