yesterday all I wanted to do was play then today came I threw my toys away in the trash can then the trashman came and took them away somewhere on a heap is broken pea green jeep a blue teddy bear wearing underwear and toy soldiers on the front line in the city dump yesterday I was having fun then tody came and took my fun away yesterday I was floating by then today came and rained on my parade yesterday I was warm inside then today came and I'm out in the cold yesterday mama told me to pray I wished I was grown didn't know what I was asking for standing in front of a door don't know what I'm knocking for if it opens will I walk in or will I walk away yesterday fixing plates sitting at the table with family and we ate then today came and took the centerpiece away yesterday I smiled at a baby in a basket then today came and I'm crying over one in a casket yesterday I went to the store filled the refrigerator ceiling to floor then today came the power went out I had throw the groceries out yesterday the sky was full of lights then today came and took all the stars away yesterday the sun came out and smiled then today came and turned the world upside down yesterday I couldn't wait for tomorrow to come then tomorrow came with pockets full of change
