OPPRESSOR SYNDROME AWARENESS

This season of nature’s resurrection

Into new beginnings and transformations

Into Garden of Eden's beauty, facades 

The atrocities blooming wildfire evilness

Blistering in today’s sub-human interactions:-

Inequality, injustice, bigotry, and racism

Have derailed our wheel of fortune, putting

Us all in great jeopardy in the socio-politico-

Economical monopoly menagerie of our lives

In a world infested with guns and bullets of hate.

Ironically, as if this was not enough, we of color

Are mentally derailed by the Oppressor Syndrome,

Manipulating us in doing our oppressors’ work;

Leaving them time to party and jump with evil joy

As we daily and nightly abuse and murder each other.

How long will we allow ourselves to be so easily misled

And colored-coded into wicked designed self-destruction;

Engaged in wearily doing the evil oppressors' work for them?

How long will we engage in killing parents and siblings?

Treating and healing the oppressor’s syndrome, not long!

Listen, the ancestral “eye on the prize” is not

That evil crusted “pie in the sky”, but is the journey

From the shadowed valley of pre-empted racist death,

To the mountaintop of liberated equality, love, and justice;

Thus, with bold hope and faith, let’s move on to amazing grace:-
