I can't take back what I gave

I can't get back what I lost

all I have is what I saved

I can't take back what I said

I can't undo what's done

all I got is all this shame

a mispronounced name

shouldering all the blame

all it took was one flame

to burn down the whole thing

all I got is ashes in a urn

these eyes are bored

can't go in the yard

can't step on the porch

can't ring the bell no more

my key don't fit the lock

I can't get through the door

I'm too afraid to knock

the windows boarded up

in the bushes looking out

feeling on the edge

walking on the ledge

for the hell of it
