I Can’t Dance With You

Although I see the result of the atrocities
The innocence gone
Watching in horror
Just like you
Sitting in your living rooms
Unsure of what to do
Unanswered questions
Why
So unfair the moment
Not the way to die

And I sympathize
I empathize and I understand
you want to march over there with a gun in your hand
it won’t bring them back
the deed has been done
I can understand your mission
Not ceasing until your war is won

And I continue to be empathetic
Don’t take this the wrong way
I am not Anti Semitic
But this is your war to fight
Your wrong to make right
The false to make true
This war does not involve me
It should only involve you

Your missing children
Grandparents
Husband and wife
I pray to God they are safe
Don’t ask me to pick up a gun
I like my life
I respect your holocaust
A tale no people should have to live
Or tell
And it has happened once again
Drinking soiled water from a bitter well
We
As our own people
Experienced that dark of night
Dead people walking
In the absence of light
But I will watch and applaud your efforts
An eventual and destined victory
Send your brave soldiers to fight
But don’t include me

This is a great poem about the war that is now happening in Israel, Now the PM of that country wants us to chip in... Laughing at the irony. Great job!
