OH, SAY CAN YOU SEE…HAITI…?

A painful reality has demanded to be

Reflected by me;

And when you think about it, it’s really

So plain to see:

Political-racisms and its apathy shadowing

War in Haiti:-

Yes, there is and, should be, empathy for those

At war—“millions of miles away;”

But what about neighbors suffering daily war-crimes

Literally, just across the sea’s way?

Rarely, if ever, is there any “Breaking News” concerning

Haiti’s war crimes going on today.

Haiti is in need of empathy and considerable aid, but

Her lives, don’t seem to matter:-

Is it because of the hue of the skin of the nation’s people,

That it is not on the peace-serving platter?

Why in this year of the coming presidential election, Haiti

Is not part of the campaign chitter-chatter?

The answer is simple and no different than what it was

Many “yesteryears” ago;

And I double-dog-dare the political parties—if they care—

To seek to prove this is not so;

And if they refuse to not give any attention or concern,

It’s more-worst than we know:-
