I hoped for a win

There is something infinite about these
women and about these men
Who came through the worse of times
bitten by dogs
beaten and sprayed with water hoses
arrested with busted lips and bloody noses
but still they stand
What can penetrate this thick black skin?
We shine with the will to win like Obama
