Unpacking Damaged Goods

I marvel at the first generational curse I broke when I wrote "Hear Me" on a sticky note to denote I am the voice of those who suffer in silence I'm on assignment to weather the storm regardless of the climate change I'm different you can call me strange I went from knowing nothing to knowing things beneficial enough to sustain after the rain came down left a flood behind searching the night sky for a sign that's when the stars started to align

A Point Of Tension

if a synonym for kin is allied then why am I in between a war on both sides if united is a synonym for allied then why is my kinsmanship a great divide if kinsmanship signifies a deep bond than why aren't we close knit why isn't my lineage my kindred my nearest my dearest if another word for cousin is cohort than why is my cousin not my comrade if "blood is thicker than water" then my bloodline is definitely a clot a knot a problem a complicated issue friction confusion obstruction blockage preventing a smooth flow of communication difficulty in resolution not a easy fix imagine an eternal cycle of psychotic energy gone viral instead of the unbreakable permanent union it should be it has me in a dysfunctional hold that's hard to mentally and emotionally escape

it takes courage to love it takes vulnerability to love it takes emotional strength to love you have to open yourself up despite potential pain forgiving and choosing to see the good in someone even if it's difficult to do especially when continuing to love after you been hurt willing to be open and seen even with the risk of experiencing the same finding the strength to choose love and keep trying especially in the wake of a heartbreak when your heart still aches the capacity to persevere and grow through suffering is the kind of heroism that's hard to imagine love is not just a feeling it's a action that takes time attention and conscious effort not just passion some of us fall in love some of us leap some of us learn how to love more wisely and establish healthy boundaries
