So yall, Coco Guaff just won the French Open 2025. Big Ups and CONGRATS to Coco!
Oh yeah, she did her Big Won!

In case yall didn’t know, Coco played Aryna Sabalenka. After Coco won the match, there was controversy and backlash from statements made by Sabalenka during her post interview following the match.
Sabalenka said (and I quote), “During the past two weeks I played really tough matches and really incredible players…” Yet, she goes on to talk about Coco’s performance and said, “She won, not because she played incredible, just because I made all of those mistakes.”

So technically, what she was doing was down playing herself with that statement. Truth be told, that statement speaks volume and it says a lot, because if Coco didn’t have to play “incredible” to beat you, then that’s a plus on Coco’s behalf.
So what Sabalenka was basically saying was, Coco really didn’t have to do much to throw her off her game, just show up right? And then, to talk about the weather conditions when to me, the wind was only doing what the wind do - Blow.
So was it the wind, or was it the win?
Or, was it because you had flashbacks from the 2023 US Open, and that in itself caused you to “overthink” and under perform, especially when you realized who you were going up against.
Leading up to the finals, you were probably hoping to play anybody but Coco. You even felt that if Iga (the 5th ranked player) had played Coco, that Iga would have won. But what a better top tier match to have than to have the #1 player go up against the #2.

Also, Sabalenka used the wind as an excuse, but I don’t see how because she was putting out some hard, powerful over 100 mph serves and some imma show you what I’m made of hits across that net, and Coco was definitely FedEx Expressing them, returning them to sender. She indeed dominated Sabalenka, mentally, physically and emotionally.

Now Coco did respond to Sabalenka’s remarks by basically saying, with Sabalenka being the #1 player in the world, what better person to play than the #1 player. It makes the statement of, yeah, I’m supposed to be here and I can stand toe to toe and go blow for blow with whoever, whenever and wherever!

Besides, if you wanna be the best, you gotta beat the best! And why would you want Coco to play a 5th ranked player instead of you? Could it have been because you didn’t want that smoke? lol
And yall, if this was only minimal and this wasn’t “incredible” at its finest, I would surely hate to see what the “Incredible” version of Coco’s performance looks like.

To be fair, yes, Sabalenka did congratulate Coco, which was more than the right thing to do. But to be salty, down play Coco’s performance and throw shade, that in itself was giving sore loser vibes and was totally unnecessary. So for Coco, either way it go, it was a wind, win situation.

Super Proud of you Coco and Congrats!!!
