maybe

if stars were aligned then
and my fingers were crossed
all my piggy bank coins 
emptied into the wishing wells at the mall
clicking the red heals of my converse sneakers
closing my eyes
wishing
I were home with you

some moments would find us in the kitchen
at the dinner table
feverishly exchanging stanzas in notebook pads
tit for tat
holsters empty
shells of verbs
adjectives
nouns found on the carpet
quiet storm smooth grooves in the background
incense igniting the mood in soft misty clouds

a relapse of the days

but gloriously blissful
intoxicating and

it is the morning after
the sunlight finds us purple
where hours before I was blue
and you were a red
black on the left

blending into a beautiful shade of gray

a wonderful box of crayons we became
