I go inside and close the door
 

Like I’m hiding from the world
 

Shouting to the world to leave me alone
 

I don’t want the world to find me
 

I don’t want the world on top of me
 

The world is too heavy
 

Like a ton of bricks on each shoulder

 In  heavy  saddle bags
 

Slowing me down to a drag
 

I tell you but you don’t know the half
 

I’m not even telling the whole
 

In constant battle with this soul of mines
 

My flesh is on the soul’s side
 

Outnumbered beaten and stomped out
 

My spirit won’t jump in and fight
 

It’s too busy turning the other cheek
 

I mean can I preach this Sunday
 

I don’t know about Monday
