I sit here tonight at my window
watching the rain fall swiftly.
Knowing once it was held gently,
in the softness of a cloud;
until an intruder came, causing friction,
and the soft cloud burst
letting go the rain in many drops.
I sit here tonight thinking, how much like
the soft cloud and the rain, you and I are
knowing once I was held gently,
in the strongness of your arms;
until a intruder came, causing friction,
and my loving heart burst
letting go the tears in many drops.
