She sat next to me at the hopsital, eating her bag of skittele's
And all of a sudden she turned to me and said " I wanna be just like you"
I looked around, maybe she was talking to someone else,
she looked at me and said "I'm not talking to myself, I'm talking to you"
Suprised I started laughing.....
She asked me "Why are you laughing, and smiled once more.
Why on earth would you want to be like me?
She said because "It's easy you see.
I know your here because you have cancer,
She started eating her skittles faster.
My mom had cancer but she wasn't strong enough to bet it,
she wasn't going to make it and we all knew it.
My dad said she went to heaven and I could still talk to
her if I hand questions for her.
Feeling sad I wanted to hug her, but I saw her smile get bigger.
she smiled and kicked her little feet, which didn't quite touch the floor
but I had a feeling she wanted to talk some more.
She said "My dad said people who have cancer, may be sick but
their the happyest and the most bravest people in the world, and
no matter what happens to them they still shine as bright as a pearl.
I told her that was pretty awesome of her to think that way,
she replyed, " I hope one day to be like you and be brave,
or I can still have a smile on my face when my cancer goes away.
Then maybe one day when were better we can have time to play
until then enjoy each and every passing day.
And just as quickly as she came...she was gone.
