Like endless chatter-
Without thought, without matter-
Taking with them-
Besides the years-
Youth and Hope and countless tears-
They also bring-
A deadly quiet-
More frightening than the frenzied riot-
Armed with the knowledge-
of Eons past-
Meet the enemy at long last-
A monster's mask of hate and shame-
Far to evil to remain-
So eyes are closed, the final time-
There is no joy, the face was mine-
