If it wasn't for life I would never know a cold night

despite a warm embrace laced with your breath pouring against my face

if wasn't for knowledge I would've never circum to my fears

despite acknowledging who I could be and who I really am to me

the cause and effect too direct to ignore the feelings of joy sprung from the lapse in pain

my first sunrise meant little to a young boy only starring into reflective colors

but for a man it was nothing short of pure beauty painted across chilled winds as tears of joy washed over my aged skin

for if I was not there in the presence of heart ache chased by the shock of a lost one's pain

the evils would have never lead me to understand and embrace the beauty of all else that remained.....
